Bob will give a focused discussion on different solar PV and wind turbine technologies that make sustainable cruising possible. Consideration will be given to the range of efficiencies, cost and reliability of each technology. Installation examples will be shown with considerations to both wind and solar. This will include mounting, maintenance, articulation and series or parallel wiring of arrays. Wind generators (turbines) will be considered as an alternative or compliment to PV. Considerations will be given to efficiency, noise, durability and cost. Installation examples are used to highlight some of the important consideration to safety and service. Proper charge regulation for both PV and wind will also be covered. This topic is loaded with examples of where buying on price can cost you a lot more than you saved in the near future.
