After 23 year careers as engineering officers in the Canadian Armed Forces, Elizabeth and her husband, Max, decided it was time for a new adventure that they could share with their two young children, so they sold their home in Nova Scotia, bought a 1982 Stevens 47, and sailed from Anacortes, WA to Victoria, BC – via the South Pacific, New Zealand, Micronesia and Alaska, a journey of 36,000 nm and 7 ½ years. Their third baby was born in Mexico, celebrated his first birthday on arrival in New Zealand, and turned six as they returned to Canada. Elizabeth and Max lived aboard their Stevens 47 for a total of 12 years, and now work together to help others find the right boat and launch off on their own adventures.
