you. Beginning with a budget plan, we will discuss the costs involved in the purchase of a
catamaran. We will give you some examples of various new & used catamarans available for
different budgets to help you visualize the reality of the current market.
How to avoid Catamaran buyer’s biggest mistakes – Once you have the budget in mind, the next
thing you need to conside is where you plan to sail with the boat, near coastal or bluewater. We will
give you the perspectives on just what type of catamaran you need to sail in various parts of the
world. Whether you plan on cruising in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, or the South Pacific.
Explaining the different possibilities depending on where you want to go.
The top ten Features for short handed sailing – Over the last decade of catamaran sailing, Jeff and
Jean will share their top ten features to look for when selecting your catamaran. From the
perspective of live aboard sailors, we discuss the various trade offs you need to decide on for the
comfort and safety of sailing with just two people handling the boat.
Conquering your fears and handling emergencies at sea – We will lead a discussion of your fears,
from man over board to night passages and more. We have an open discussion with the class
listing the things that may be holding you back from living the dream. We will get fears out in the
open and show you how to handle them. With tips from handling a single-handed man overboard
situation to avoiding heavy weather, we will show you how to acknowledge your fear and conquer it.
Catamaran handling tips – Docking, anchoring, and even picking up a mooring ball can be differnt
on a catamaran then a monohull. We will demonstrate how to make it easy with just two people
handling the boat. You would be surprised to find out that many self-taught sailors have been doing
things the hard way, we will show you how to put a little spin on things in ways you may not have
thought about of to make it easier
