Jimmy Cornell has sailed 200,000 miles in all oceans of the world including three circumnavigations as well as voyages to Antarctica and the Northwest Passage. As the founder of the ARC transatlantic rally, Jimmy Cornell is credited with having devised the offshore cruising rally concept. In the last 35 years, Jimmy Cornell has organised 36 transatlantic, two transpacific, five round the world rallies and one round the world race.
Jimmy Cornell is the author of 20 books, with his best-selling World Cruising Routes being described as the bible of long distance voyagers. A companion volume, produced in collaboration with his son Ivan, is a global atlas of pilot charts. The recently published third edition has been fully revised to take into account the changes that have occurred in the global climate conditions.
