Captain Vicki Saporta obtained her Master 50 Gross Tons Inland Waters with Sailing and Towing Endorsements from the US Coast Guard in early 2012. She also is certified as a Navy Sailing Offshore Skipper (D-OS) and an American Sailing Association (ASA) Instructor, levels 201, 203, 204, and 205.
Vicki was named SpinSheet’s 2023 Volunteer of the Year. She currently volunteers with Sail Beyond Cancer Annapolis as President and Lead Captain; United States Naval Academy (USNA) as Offshore Skipper in their Command & Seamanship Training Squadron; USNA Varsity Offshore Sailing Team as a volunteer coach: Annapolis Naval Sailing Association (ANSA) as a sailing instructor; Chesapeake Regional Accessible Boating (CRAB) as a skipper; Chesapeake Bay Sabre Association (CBSA) as Commodore; and Chesapeake Area Professional Captains Association (CAPCA) as immediate Past President.
Vicki owns a Sabre 402 sailing vessel, a NauticStar 24.3 power boat, and kayaks. In each of the last four years, she has documented more than 100 boating days on the Chesapeake Bay and several offshore passages in the waters from Norfolk, VA to Greenwich, CT. She has also previously sailed her Sabre 402 from Annapolis to Maine and Annapolis to Nantucket, with many stops enroute on both cruises.
