Captain Cheryl Duvall

Captain Cheryl Duvall is Program Director for CAPCA (Chesapeake Area Professional Captains Association) and holds a USCG Masters license up to 100 gross tons with auxiliary sail. She has more than 5,000 nautical miles of bluewater and coastal sailing, between Maine and Florida, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. She also holds an RYA Inland Waterways Helmsman’s Certificate for barges up to 65 feet.

After her first ICW and offshore cruising experience in 2015-2016, Cheryl became a licensed captain and continued to build her sailing experience with offshore passages, including sailing from Bermuda to Newport in 2019 with Captain Tania Aebi. Cheryl recently returned from 101 days at sea from Annapolis to Maine and back, on her Gozzard 44, S/V Belle Bateau, https://www.sailingbelle.net. She lives in Annapolis MD and enjoys writing about her sailing adventures for SpinSheet magazine.
