Gribs (an abbreviation for gridded binary) are small, readily-available data files that contain a wealth of
weather forecasting information. Using GRibs is a great way for coastal and long-distance cruisers to
forecast the weather and plan the fastest and most comfortable route anywhere in the world. Gribs are
particularly useful when your connection to the Internet is very slow or you are limited to a slow
satellite data connection. The presentation will introduce the standard features of most grib viewers and
examine the advantages and disadvantages of using grib files for your cruising forecasts
