John Neal has conducted 180 offshore cruising seminars and 220 offshore sail-training expeditions worldwide aboard various vessels, sailing 406,000 miles since 1974. John is author, co-author or contributing author of 17 books including Log of the Mahina.

Nigel Calder is author of Boatowners Mechanical and Electrical Handbook and Marine Diesel Engines and has been cruising, designing electrical systems and writing about it for 50 years. He has co-presented in Mahina seminars over the past 20 years.

Pete McGonagle has over 1,000,000 miles experience in a broad range of vessels from cruising catamarans to oil tankers over the past 40 years and has co-presented Boat Selection in many Mahina seminars over the past 20 years.

Liz Brown-Shaw recently completed a 7-year, 12,000-mile Pacific circumnavigation with her husband Max, having had their third child in Mexico mid-cruise. She is a former engineering officer in the RCAF and now leads workshops internationally highlighting key areas that can affect a shared cruising dream, helping you tune into any doubts and fears to uncover the skill sets or lifestyle factors that matter to you.

Our goal is to help prepare you to fulfill your own cruising dreams. The day starts at 8:15 and ends at 5:15 pm – a full day of everything you need to know! Attendees are welcome to join presenters for a no-host sushi dinner following the seminar.
