Night and fog travel presents a new set of challenges and hazards that we don’t encounter during the day — invisible shoals, indecipherable lights, watchkeeping, light and varied sleep schedule. This seminar will give you tips on how to make travel during the night or in limited visibility exciting and pleasant instead of nerve-wracking. We’ll cover navigation, lights, night vision, visibility, watch keeping, boat check, sleep schedules, safety, etc. We’ll talk about precise navigation in limited visibility travel – especially near shore (as that is where the navigation hazards are). We will also talk about overnight offshore travel, where watchkeeping, maintaining systems, etc is the priority.
