Richard Anderson, a lifelong technologist and licensed USCG captain, and his wife Devon Thurtle Anderson, an accomplished attorney, quit their career jobs in 2017 and took their two young daughters on an 18 month cruising adventure from the northern fjords of SE Alaska to the lush jungles of Costa Rica with many stops in between. During that time they both acquired and operated Sea-Tech Systems, and also restarted Devon’s accounting company and law firm, all while still travelling by boat. Richard combines his considerable technology experience with real world cruising, general travelling, and business operating experiences to help other cruisers learn about the realities of staying connected from a boat. Since 2018, Richard has helped many cruisers set up their boats with communications systems including simple HF radio as well as broadband satellite at sea, and everything in between.
